Getting Started
Harmonize Music is a place to share the music you love and discover what your friends are listening to. Build mixtapes, start collabs with friends, and follow the people whose taste you trust.
No — Harmonize Music isn't a streaming service. It's a place to share and talk about music you're already listening to elsewhere. Just paste in a link from Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music and we'll take care of the rest.
Harmonize Music is free to download from the App Store or Google Play.
Yes, Harmonize Music is free to use. There are optional paid upgrades if you'd like a few extra features, but you get the full core experience for free.
You need to be at least 16 to use Harmonize Music. If you're under 18, you'll need permission from a parent or guardian.
Harmonize Music is available worldwide.
The app is where the real Harmonize Music experience happens — that's where you'll build mixtapes, start collabs, and follow friends. The website is more for our blog, community guidelines, and getting in touch with us.
Playlists
Open the app and tap the "+" to start a new playlist, then paste in links to the songs you want to add from Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music. Give it a name and share it with your followers.
Nope — you don't need to connect any streaming accounts. Just paste in the links to the songs you want to share, and we handle giving you credit as the creator automatically.
No problem — playlists that span multiple genres are automatically tagged "mixed," so people know what to expect before they dive in.
Once a mixtape or playlist is deleted, it can't be recovered — but the songs themselves still exist on whichever streaming service you added them from. If you think you might want it later, tap "Harmonize it" to save it before deleting.
Harmonizing
Harmonizing is when we rebuild a playlist you've selected from the Harmonize Music app onto your music streaming app. It's a cross-platform feature, so your playlists can move with you.
Most of the time, yes. If a song isn't available on the platform you're harmonizing to, it'll be left out of the rebuilt playlist.
Not yet. Due to a change in Spotify's terms, we're unable to harmonize to Spotify until we reach 250k monthly active users (MAU).
Yes, all harmonizing features are available for Apple Music.
Yes, though we're limited to a certain number of harmonizes per day. Don't worry, we'll add you to a queue, and your playlist will harmonize as soon as it's your turn.
Mixtapes You Build With Friends ("Collabs")
A collab mixtape is a mixtape you build together with friends. As the host, you invite up to 5 friends to add songs, so the final mixtape reflects everyone's taste, not just yours.
You can invite up to 5 friends to a collab mixtape. If someone declines, their spot automatically reopens so you can invite someone else.
Tap "Link your track" and paste in a link from Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube Music. Your song will be added to the mixtape for everyone to see.
They'll need to create a Harmonize Music account first. Send them your personal invite link, and once they've signed up they can join your collab.
As the host, you can lock the mixtape once it's ready. This marks it complete and automatically shares it to everyone's profile who took part.
If you leave a collab mixtape, you're removed from it and any songs you added are removed too. The host will be notified that you've left.
Yes — hiding a mixtape removes it from your own profile only. It won't affect anyone else in the collab, and you can unhide it again whenever you like.
Public collabs can be seen by your followers and show up on your profile. Private collabs are only visible to the people you've invited and won't appear in search. Only the host can change a collab's privacy setting.
Yes — you'll get a phone alert and an in-app message whenever someone accepts an invite, adds a new song, or changes the mixtape's name, cover, or privacy setting.
Growing Your Circle
Share your personal invite link with friends. Once 2 friends join Harmonize Music through your link, you'll unlock unlimited mixtapes permanently — even if you stop inviting people after that.
