Our platform is built around music, creativity and community. To ensure that everyone can enjoy it fully, we have established clear policies that prioritize safety, accessibility, fairness and respect.
These guidelines exist to protect musician's rights, promote inclusivity, prevent harm and foster an authentic and supportive environment for all users—regardless of age, race, gender, identity or background. Whether you’re a musician, a record label, a venue or a fan - our policies are designed to ensure that your experience is enjoyable, secure and free from discrimination or exploitation.

1. Content & Copyright Policy
Why? To protect artists' rights and prevent controversy and legal implications.
Users must own or have the rights to share any uploaded albums, mixsets or songs.
Clear DMCA takedown process for copyright infringement claims.
Watermarking or metadata tagging to help track original uploads.
Optional content ID system to detect copyrighted material.
Licensing agreements with labels/musicians to facilitate legal distribution.
Enforcement:
Immediate takedown of copyrighted material upon valid DMCA claim.
Warnings for first-time violations, with repeat offenders facing suspensions or bans.
Artists can appeal wrongful takedowns through a structured process.
2. Monetization & Promotion Policy
Why? To keep monetization fair while supporting musicians and businesses.
Only verified musicians/businesses can run exclusive content promotions.
No disruptive or irrelevant ads (aligned with Harmonize’s native campaigns model).
Transparent revenue-sharing for artists using platform tools (if applicable).
No artificial boosting (e.g., pay-to-stream bots, misleading promotion).
Enforcement:
Accounts found using fraudulent promotion tactics will be demonetized and/or suspended.
Fake engagement schemes (e.g., bots) will result in content removal and potential bans.
Clear disclosure required for sponsored posts—failure to comply may result in promotion removal or penalties.
3. Community Guidelines
Why? To ensure constructive engagement and prevent abuse.
Respectful interactions: No hate speech, harassment or bullying.
Authenticity matters: No impersonation, fake profiles or misleading claims.
No spam: No mass unsolicited messages, follow-for-follow schemes or engagement farming.
Fair use of music: Users who are not owners of the music may only post playlists.
Enforcement:
Content removal and warnings for first-time violators.
Account suspensions for repeated harassment, spam or fake accounts.
Permanent bans for hate speech, harassment or impersonation cases.
4. AI & Music Generators Policy
Why? AI-generated content is growing, and clear policies are needed.
AI-generated music should be tagged accordingly.
No AI-cloning of real musicians or other accounts without permission.
Strict policies on AI deepfake voices to prevent impersonation.
Enforcement:
AI-generated content without proper tagging will be flagged.
Unauthorized AI-cloned music or voices will lead to immediate removal and possible account penalties.
AI bots or impersonators will be suspended and/or banned.
Repeat offenders may face demonetization or bans.
5. Data & Privacy Policy
Why? Protecting user data is key to trust.
No selling of user data to third parties.
Users can control visibility of their posts, comments, and profile.
End-to-end encryption for direct messaging.
Enforcement:
Strict compliance audits to ensure data security.
Violations of user privacy (e.g., leaks, unauthorized data sharing) will result in severe penalties, including legal action.
Users can execute full account deletion at any time, ensuring no data retention beyond legal requirements.
6. Moderation & Enforcement Policy
Why? To ensure compliance without over-policing creativity.
Tiered moderation: AI detection for spam/toxicity + human review for disputes and content flagged as malicious e.g. hate speech.
Transparent strike system for content violations.
Appeal process for reported content or takedowns.
Community reporting tools with clear review timelines.
Enforcement:
First-time violations get a warning, unless they involve serious offenses like hate speech.
Repeated offenses result in temporary suspension or permanent bans.
Verified artists and businesses will receive priority moderation support for disputes.
7. Algorithmic Transparency Policy
Why? To prevent bias and allow artists to understand discovery mechanisms.
Explain how music is surfaced (e.g., engagement, quality diversity).
No hidden pay-to-play favoritism (organic and paid promotions are distinct).
Enforcement:
Regular audits to ensure fairness in algorithm-based recommendations.
Artists will have access to performance insights explaining why their content is promoted.
Any attempts to game the algorithm (e.g., engagement fraud) will result in content penalties, account suspensions and/or legal action.
8. Business & Brand Policy
Why? To create a fair and ethical ecosystem for businesses, brands and music industry professionals while maintaining platform integrity.
Transparent advertising & sponsorships: All sponsored content must be clearly tagged.
No unfair artist exploitation: Businesses cannot force unfair contracts, charge predatory fees or use deceptive marketing tactics.
Respect for artists' rights: Labels, managers and promoters must obtain explicit permission before distributing an artist’s content.
No pay-to-play schemes: Businesses cannot artificially boost artist content using engagement farming, bot streaming or misleading promotion tactics.
Enforcement:
Businesses violating ethics policies may face temporary or permanent bans from promotions,monetization tools and the platform.
Monetization suspension for businesses that engage in fraudulent, misleading or exploitative practices.
Artists can report contract disputes, and Harmonize will assist where reasonably possible.
Warnings, suspensions or permanent bans based on severity and repeat offenses.
9. Protecting Musicians from Hate & Online Harassment
Why? To ensure musicians can share their work without fear of abuse or unfair targeting.
Zero tolerance for targeted harassment, hate speech or coordinated attacks on musicians.
No review bombing or mass-report abuse against musicians.
Protection features such as comment controls, block tools and moderation assistance.
Musicians can report hate-based brigading, with priority review and action.
Enforcement:
Accounts engaging in hate-driven harassment or mass abuse will face immediate suspensions or bans.
Artists can restrict or disable comments on their content to control discussions.
AI-driven detection for dogpiling and harassment trends, with moderator intervention when necessary.
10. Anti-Harassment & Hate Speech Policy
Why? To ensure all users feel safe and respected.
Zero tolerance for hate speech, slurs or demeaning language targeting race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, caste or nationality.
No misgendering or deadnaming in a deliberate, harmful or harassing manner.
Strict action against hate groups, extremist content and radicalization efforts.
No dog-whistling or coded language that promotes discrimination.
Human + AI moderation for quick responses to reported violations.
Enforcement:
Warnings, suspensions or permanent bans based on severity and repeat offenses.
Community-led reporting system to flag hate speech, with a clear appeals process.
11. Gender & LGBTQ+ Inclusivity Policy
Why? To create a gender-affirming space for all users.
No restrictions on display names (vs. legal names) unless for impersonation.
Transgender & non-binary visibility: The platform will actively support, promote and protect trans and non-binary users; including musicians and businesses.
No outing, harassment or discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
Inclusive moderation training: Staff and AI tools will be trained to recognize and address LGBTQ+ specific harassment.
Enforcement:
Reports on gender-based harassment prioritized for faster resolution.
Warnings, suspensions or permanent bans based on severity and repeat offenses.
Educational prompts instead of instant bans for first-time offenders (unless malicious intent is clear).
12. Anti-Racism & Cultural Respect Policy
Why? To honor diverse cultures and protect against racism.
No racist imagery, slurs, stereotypes or discriminatory behavior.
Strong protections for Black, Indigenous and POC users from hate speech.
No mocking accents, cultural practices or racial gatekeeping in discussions.
No AI voice/music cloning that replicates racialized speech patterns without consent.
Artists of all backgrounds have equal promotion & discovery opportunities—no algorithmic bias.
Enforcement:
Diversity-sensitive AI moderation + human review to catch nuanced racial discrimination.
Warnings, suspensions or permanent bans based on severity and repeat offences.
Reports on racism or cultural harassment prioritized for faster resolution.
Educational resources provided for users who violate rules in good faith but need guidance.
13. Sexualization & Exploitation Policy
Why? To prevent harm, objectification and abuse, especially of women, LGBTQ+ individuals and minors.
No non-consensual sexual content or doxxing of personal photos/videos.
Strict policy against grooming, predatory behavior and inappropriate contact with minors.
No forced or exploitative sexualization of artists, especially women, LGBTQ+ musicians and underage creators.
No revenge porn, leaked content or harassment through music-related content.
Enforcement:
Instant bans for clear cases of predatory behavior or non-consensual leaks.
Reports on prefatory behaviour, non-consensual leaks or sexual harassment prioritized for faster resolution.
Survivor-first approach: Victims have full control over reporting and content removal requests.
14. Mental Health & Well-Being Policy
Why? To promote positive engagement and prevent harmful trends.
No promotion of self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
Trigger warnings encouraged for heavy topics in music or discussions.
AI/Moderator intervention for patterns of distress in posts (with opt-in support options).
Partnerships with mental health orgs to provide in-app resources for users in distress.
Enforcement:
Non-punitive approach: Instead of bans, at-risk users are guided toward support.
Community-driven safety flags for harmful content.
Reports on mental health or well-being prioritized for faster resolution.
Warnings, suspensions or permanent bans based on severity and repeat offenses.
15. Political & Ethical Integrity Policy
Why? To prevent misinformation, exploitation and unethical behaviour.
No election misinformation or political manipulation via music.
No profiting from crisis situations, tragedies or disasters.
Human rights protection: No music or content glorifying hate groups, genocide or war crimes.
Enforcement:
Clear fact-checking & removal processes for misinformation.
Artists & businesses must follow ethical advertising & sponsorship disclosure rules.
16. Anti-Ableism Policy
Why? To ensure that Harmonize is a platform where people with disabilities are treated with respect, dignity and equality - free from discrimination, prejudice or exclusion.
Zero tolerance for ableist language, slurs or discrimination targeting people with disabilities, including physical, sensory, cognitive, invisible/non-visible and neurodivergent conditions.
No mocking, belittling or demeaning representations of disabled individuals in content, discussions, or music.
Inclusive design & participation: Users with disabilities must have equal access to platform features, monetization tools and community spaces.
Protections for disabled creators: Musicians and content creators with disabilities will have the same promotional opportunities without bias in discovery algorithms.
Support for neurodivergent users: The platform will be designed to be sensory-friendly, with options to reduce flashing visuals, autoplay content and overwhelming stimuli.
Enforcement:
Immediate removal of content that contains ableist hate speech, mockery or discrimination.
Warnings, suspensions or bans for users who engage in harassment or exclusionary behavior toward disabled individuals.
Dedicated moderation training to ensure that ableist language and systemic discrimination are properly identified and addressed.
Feedback by disabled users, reported accessibility concerns and discriminatory experiences, have prioritised resolution.
17. Digital Safety & Privacy Policy
Why? To protect user privacy and prevent doxxing, stalking and non-consensual data collection.
No doxxing or sharing of private user info (phone numbers, addresses, etc.).
No non-consensual facial recognition or AI-generated likeness misuse.
Music ownership protection: Artists own their data and can control its distribution.
Strong anti-stalking protections for musicians and users, including private account settings and block features.
Enforcement:
Swift content takedown for doxxing or privacy violations.
Multiple privacy levels: Users can control who sees their posts & messages.
